There are people who are genuinely true to you. As foolish as they seem, they aren't. Simple-minded? At least I know I don't have to worry about any hidden intention or fake a laugh. Nor hold back tears.

The world might be a selfish and cruel place but you don't have to be.

If you're lenient to other people you'd be cruel to yourself.... Yes, true. You can't fly and touch the sky. But boy, the skies stretch to infinity. So...exactly what are you working so hard for?

So you got to know where is the limit to your sky. Not others'. Not the society's.

All the working/feeling tired is getting me nowhere. I need to do things to enrich my life. Make my numbering golden age aka 18th year on Earth more fulfilling. Thought out some stuff to get my hands (and brain) working during my free time. Better than sleeping my night away?

Will be blogging about these so-called projects soon. Gonna snap pictures with my digi cam. Nowhere near DSLR but meh, better than iPhone quality photos right!!!

Today is Tuesday. That means my favourite boy is going to NS T___T All the best Tim bear! Had a short awesome meet up with those who can make it yesterday. Laughed and chilled. Like before. Sometimes in the midst of fun and laughter, I can't help but feel a bit uneasy. I can't help but to question, when will this end? When will our bond weaken? When will we stop having so much things to talk about, or stop being comfortable without words and things to do? When will we bypass the peak of this friendship? This is sickening shit.

It might never happen (PRAYING). But.. I can't push those worries out.

Every time when I'm about to start writing a post, my Internet just has to crash. T___T

Im on my sofa Rewatching some portion of protect the boss. Too lazy (and lack the patience) to watch it today. I havent had a good rest for a long time. Early mornings for the whole week. Close to fatal.

5 more early days. Wait, 6. I'm sleeping in on Sunday so please don't book me. Or at least, after 2pm.

I'm sucha snoozer. Hehhe. Is there even a word like this?

Time to really hit the sack. My eyesssss. Can connect them into a straight line already. Furthermore, the heat and humidity are unbearable. Sweating even when the fan is on.

Weird title? I never thought I'm classified as 'common face' LOL. Apparently, not one or two told me they saw someone who looks like me on the streets! Nooooo. I thought I'm quite unique~

Headed to SMU for their open house today. Flooded with JC people. And probably some poly kids. Attended a talk/browsed through some booths. SMU is a good school for business. But is it for me? Questions I've yet to find answers. Uncertainties. Meh.

Social science is a good area to study. Like it broadens your perspectives etc. However, I'm still more comfortable with a more job-promising course. (Not like social science doesn't, just not as much as other courses?). I'm still very new to the whole University thing. I can't believe I'm even thinking about this topic. Oh my distant dream is finally coming true?

Nonetheless, I will most likely put SMU business as one of my choices. Hmmm. More is better than less? (please direct translate to Chinese to make it sound less weird).

I will decide when I visit all the schools.

Random Sunday With The Girls

So after much discussion and changing of plans, we decided to have a simple outing: movie, eating and some minor shopping.

First, we had lunch at Pastamania. Yeah, food when we've no craving. Wait. I'm actually craving for Manhattan but the queue was horrible.

We also got some sort of cheese sticks. The chili sauce is great!

Did the usual nonsense and met up with yq and ape. Made our way to amk hub and got tickets for:

I find it is really not bad! I mean, meaningful. But both yue and wen don't really appreciate.

My internet connection is as good as gone. Pray I've the time to write a post tomorrow. Or at least, with browsers that will load.

Sometimes I wish I've a lappy (with photoshop in it) so I can carry that junk out to probably Starbucks when my connection sucks like shit. Or when I feel like a real writer. Sipping coffee typing my work. LOL.

Mushroom Soup in Minutes

Something good to share with you hungry readers~ (and best if you're lazy, like me).

Campbell's Mushroom Cheese and Croutons

This is very nice! Brought a couple of packs over to UK and they served as good midnight snack/breakfast! Even the girls love it!

Don't be too impatient and add a lot of water at a go. Top it up slowly until you get the correct consistency (aka thick and creamy).

There're bits of croutons inside. Personally, I prefer them to be soft. I will soak them before eating! If you like crunchy bits just have them before they absorb too much water. Oh, not forgetting little tiny pieces of mushrooms inside.

What's up! Work was fun though tiring. There were so much things to do. Love it. Rushing stuff makes me happy. Better than sitting there secreting wishing for time to speed up.

I know, not again? I've the tendency to write about the same thing over and over again. Pardon me.

However, I feel that I need to write about this because 1. I just got it 2. There's an on-going promotion 3. The previous one was a boo product.

I know. Point number 1. -_____- So much of FINISHING the Watsons lipbalm first before purchasing another. (But I figured out how to make full use of them already, see below)

Nivea Fruity Shine in Pink Guava

What: Tinted lip balm

Smell: More like watermelon

Taste: Nil

Cost: $4.10 (but there's a promotion now so you can get it at $3.50)

Good for: Daily usage, dry lips

Where to get: Watsons, Venus or any drugstores

What I like:

The smell
Told ya I'm a sucker for sweet scents.

The function
Guess this is like the most important thing people look at when they are buying a lip balm right? Whether it is moisturising, how long will it last on your lips, how does it feel etc. Well, it is moisturising. I used it on the day I bought it and applied right after meals. You know what? Within 1 day, my chapped lips are gone. Impressed.

The texture
It feels really light on my lips. Love it. Hate those waxy feeling.

The colour and sparkles
This is a good-bad thing (mentioned here before).
I don't have to bring another lip gloss/stick with this tinted lip balm.

The sun protection
SPF 10. Good good. Lips need protection as well. I used to use another lip product with SPF in it and it helps to lighten dark lips. (coupled with regular exfoliation)

What I don't like

The colour
Yes, I'm contradicting myself. But wait let me explain.
One thin layer and the colour + shimmer is really nice.

However, if you apply a little too much, it is a little bright and too sparkly (for my liking).

I know the lighting in the two pictures aren't the same. But there is really substantial difference in real life.

The packaging
It is a little too fat. LOL I'm troublesome like that.

The Verdict:
This is a good everyday lip balm. It provides enough protection such as SPF. At night I would apply my Watsons one. Don't want anything with SPF in it on my skin (or lips) when I'm snoozing!

Rating: 9/10
Added it to my fav list but might not repurchase. There are other brands I'm planning to try once I finish this tube *hopefully!*

I was a little skeptical about the place as well. I mean, it is not located inside the usual shopping malls... might be pretty run-down or what. or dirty. or sleazy. But it's not. In fact, the place is clean and comfortable.

The menu.

The songs are pretty updated. (not like I might old songs) and there is a lot of different genres/singers to choose from.

Bill was $35 for 3 hours of singing. Really cheap! Considering the fact that we ordered 7 hotdog buns, 1 plate of garlic bread and 1 coke (not sure whether jc paid for it but heck, still cheap).

The hotdog bun is nice. I love it. *craving*

Today is really good.
I did many things I never done before. Cool or cool?

My manager bought breakfast for me. Yes to egg. My house even ran out of eggs. Can you believe it? #timetostockup

I had some things to do. Not bad. At least time seemed to pass faster. Had lunch at manhattan fish market, plaza sing. Not nice, at all.

It was bad compared to what I tried at causeway point manhattan.

The brownie with vanilla was appetising. (btw I'm hungry now)

Lunch was without Jessica but with other colleagues. Listening to them talk is very funny. Heheee.

Had a little shopping trip at daiso. Got gloves to wash toilet and stuff hur.

Then I did my first FedEx mail. Not bad.

It has been a while. I know. There are so many different events I need to write about. Too lazy. Too tired. #excuses

I hope I don't forget anything I wish to write. All the events. Actually, life has been pretty meaningful and packed. Just that I don't have the energy to do it. #foreversleeping

I saw a super wtf thing today. So angry. THAT MAN IS SO DISGUSTING MAN DON'T LET ME SEE YOU AGAIN IF NOT I STOMP YOU DAMN YOU DON'T THINK GIRLS ARE PUSHOVERS. Still pretty mad about that. Z to sum up, if you meet a man on the train/anywhere and he is intentionally sticking to you, like literally WHOLE FREAKING BODY and even to the extent of pulling up his sleeve to have more skin contact, you should probably give him a slap because you're not the only victim.

Btw, I'm not a victim. Just saw the whole thing right in front of my eyes. Gross.

Enough of stupid man.

Did packing for the... storage room. Lots of moving, clearing, throwing and ended the day with 2 broken nails and tons of little cuts on my hands. Meh. At least it beats sitting there for 1 whole day trying to do something.

I hope tomorrow wouldn't be TOOOO bad. Most probably trying my luck at plaza sing tomorrow. Siwon coming! Not a crazy fan but I don't mind seeing him right in front of me, as close as possible. hehheee.

Been trying items from house brands quite frequently.
Looking into cheaper alternatives yea.

As I've mentioned, house brands might not lose out in terms of quality. I love Watsons' Hair Treatment a lot!

Cut the long story short, here's another thing I want to write!

Watsons Moisturising Lip Balm

What: Lip Balm

Scent: Apple and Peach

Taste: No scent

Good for: Dry lips

Cost: $2.90

Where to get it: Watsons stores

What I like:

The smell

Apple + peach. There you got me. It just smell heavenly.

The value

$2.90 for a usual size of lip balm. Guess I can pair the phrase 'value for money' with this product

What I don't like:

The texture

It just feels waxy on my lips. So annoying. But I've used worse ones. *shivers*

The function

Sadly, this doesn't work very well. My lips are still chapped/dry after using for a few days. Used better ones before that's why I can make this comparison!

This does not leave any sort of colour on your lips. A good-bad thing. Good if you wish to wear some sort of other colour on moisturised lips but bad if you are looking for a 2-in-1. Nothing is perfect anyway.

The Verdict :3

For me, this product doesn't make me nauseous (THANK GOD). Not a bad to the max product but it is also not something I'll repurchase. I would rather top up a little and try another brand I've been reading on quite a lot nowadays. Before that, I'm trying my very best to finish this tube first.

Yes, as straight forward as that.

Feeling a tad terrible but I'm happy. Finally my system lost. I need a good break. And it will be good if I get 1 or 2 comforting messages and better if someone can take care of me #wishfulthinking

I'm not someone who can 'appear' sick and vulnerable and all. I did try couple years back but no one (in my family) seems to bother. Oh yea #fml.
I don't usually say I'm feeling sick unless it is really overwhelming.

So I guess over time my body sort of recover very quickly. Never had fever or what for more than 3 days.
It is just super depressing because I'm feeling horrible yet no one gives a damn. I will probably pity myself and feel super horrible (mentally).
And act all irritating. :(

Today is not bright and cheery. But I thought through. Let's just try one more time. At least at the end of the day, even if it fails, I can tell myself I gave my 100%.

Anywayzzzzzz, today's lunch was great. We dined at The nasi Padang store. Yummy malay food. I even ate the sotong because it was really good! Damn, so out of the place. Quick, someone learn to drive and get a car! :D

Something random but meh~ I was reading sw's post during work just now. It's seriously very funny and I've to act like I'm having a flu as I'm trying to not laugh. Even breathing is 100 times louder in a quiet office, agree?

Might be darkening my hair tomorrow or Friday. At most Sat? Cannot stand my brown hair. Or should I just go all the way to milktea brown? LOL. I scared later I heart attack.

Hello folks, there is increasingly more and more of good websites coming out. Advertorials from nuffnang, gushcloud and so on. Not very long ago I was introduced to another website - Creed Media (from one of my clouds)

*yohoooo* I'm finally doing another Hit/Miss post after donkey years. Another hair product. (I just feel like posting this up first). Other products are in the KIV list.

Blogging about this hair product because I just carried them back from bkk! Errr, they are available in Singapore. In fact, they are ALL OVER Singapore. I'm just being cheapskate (Cheaper there~)

To be frank, this is one of my holy grails. Love their ranges so much!

Watsons Hair Treatment. L: Olive, R: Avocado

What: Hair Treatment

Size: 300ml (Olive) / 500ml

Good for: Dry hair, damaged hair with split ends, rebond/perm hair

I mentioned here I've been using another hair mask which helps to keep my hair healthy with minimal split ends? THIS IS IT.

I've 6 bottles at home. No joke. Of which I'm using two - Avocado and Olive. Both are awesome.

Up to date I've only used this two series. I just keep going back!

Pros:

Smells really good
Prefer Avocado to Olive

Effect
Both them them serve different functions (though my sis don't really feel the difference)
Avocado - Shine, managability, smoothness
Olive - Hair feels healthier and is really good with split ends. This is the other product I've mentioned here which helps my ends a whole lot. Half a tub to see the effect

The price
No joke. The price is very good as they are house brand. $7.90 for a big tub. 500ml. Where to get good hair mask at such a price and quantity? Just something extra for you, there will be a promotion every half a year or 3 months. Buy 2 get 1 free. That means $5.20 for 1! Super worth it. Go check Watsons now and then ok! ^^

Cons:

The packaging
Not a lady-friendly product as you've to dig your fingers into the tub to get the product. Hate it when it gets under my nails. Then again, 500ml in a tube form will be pretty scary, no? So giantitic.

Watsons hair masks are definitely worth it for the price you're paying. So cheap so good. I heard many people raving about yogurt mask from Watsons range. This one is harder to find but I managed to get it from bkk! :D

It is a good everyday/every alternate day mask to use. Nourishing enough and doesn't hurt your wallet as much. I know a lot of people are pretty skeptical when it comes to house brands. House brands don't always mean their quality is compromised.

Hello everyone! I'm finally back. 5 days in bkk and it's not enough. So many things to shop. Food was bad. Sweet, salty, sour and all. Not my cup of tea. Plus the serving is so small I've to have 2 bowls and up. (spells expensive) So most of the days I go around half-empty.

Miss Singapore's food! Everything in large portion + tasty! :D

PS, there are good food too. But I just love sg's food better.

Slept a good 14h hours? Crazy early mornings and late nights there. So super tired. Should I take leave tomorrow? A little sick as well.

Early birthday celebration for Tiffy. Headed to 2D1N Soju Bang for Korean BBQ buffet since Kai wanted to visit that place since forever.

Review on 2D1N Soju Bang BBQ Buffet

The Location

The place is a probably 10 minutes (if you crawl) from Tanjong Pagar Station. Arm yourself with google maps or something if you're unfamiliar with that area. Remember to check with the staff which exit to take. I can't exactly recall which exit we took... I believe it was exit A. (Don't blame me if it's not the right one haha!) I just had to follow the pros. Nonetheless, it wasn't hard to locate anyway. Singapore is after all a very puny and accessible city.

The Price

It is $20++ for buffet dinner. Each of us paid $23.50. We did not add any drinks. I would say the price is reasonable for buffet dinner.

The Ambiance

A small littler restaurant. Well ventilated but we still smelt like like BBQ humans after dinner. The place is a little greasy. Can't help I guess. Generally clean, even the toilet. It will get a little noisy as it is more of a gathering spot of young adults or families.

The Crowd

We reached that place about... 6.45pm. No crazy crowd but expect a little queuing. Left at 8 over and there were still people waiting for seats.

The Service

Nice people. They would volunteer to change the aluminium sheet, clear the plates etc. Something to note is most of the staff tend to mix your BBQ items (raw or cooked) together when they are removing them from the old foil to the new one.

The Variety

There isn't a whole lot of variety but enough to satisfy. Heaven for meat eater heheee. Pork, beef, chicken, vegs and kimchi. Only cold water is provided. You have to pay for other assorted drinks.

The Must Eat

1. Rice.

Very yum I swear. (I'm a rice person)

2. Chicken chucks.

Honey marinated or something? Very refreshing and meat is tender.

3. Beef ribs

Very tasty.

These are all I took that day. Too busy stuffing myself with BBQ proteins.

It wasn't a bad buffet. Will be really worth it if you love beef and all sorts of meat. You just have to scrub yourself/wash your hair 2 times when you reach home.

Gave both Liting and Tiffy their presents while they were in the washroom.

Wow wow. Today turned out to be an eventful day... when I have nothing planned. Went with the flow and it was really not bad. :3

Went to work on an empty train. Heeeheee love empty trains. Hate the fact we have to start work on chu 3.
Btw, today is a love-hate day.

Worked a little, organised here and there. Received my ang baos from my colleague, my boss and my company ^^

Headed to Sushi Tei for food. Very yums especially the rolls. Even the jellyfish tastes good. :D

Ended the session with yu sheng. Had 2 plateful for the sales team. For good luck, I think. Sushi Tei @ Paragon is a nice place. Big and clean. Staff were nice as well. Went for a little 10-min walk with my colleague in Paragon. Not my type of shopping place, sadly. Wait till I earn enough to feed myself and everybody else. Material wants are just secondary.

Nicest boss let me off early! Love her!
So I managed to make my way too woodlands early to meet sw and yq. They took 30 minutes to walk all the way to the station. Both of them were all dressed up as though they're heading to town. Me? Heading to bed ahahahaa! Told ya I don't care when I've no after-work events. I'm just a shag piece of tofu flowing home after work.
(PS, this meet up was impromptu so yea)

Headed to semb and shopped for steamboat food. Bought I believe enough for 5 pax. Went to prepare blahblah Appy's mom and aunt are very nice!

Ate tons of food yum yum pork belly xxxx. Fats.

Saturday 21/1/12:

Slept most of my day away. Edited this skin (since it failed once) most of the time when my eyes are opened. Had a horrible terrible nightmare. Plus the rain was very scary.

You might think my nightmare is a joke. Okay here's what I dreamed of.

I dreamed that my little sis died. So my memories of her (from then onward), like the things we did in Dec, the words I said to her etc were all thought up, by myself.

It was horrible I swear.

In my dream, I went to work. Saw the people I usually work with/hang out with. I went home.

Then I was browsing through documents in my dad's drawer and found the death certificate of my sis. (IKR WHERE GOT SUCH A THING) It was dated June 11 2011. I CAN REMEMBER IT SO WELL YOU SEE. SCARED ME SOOOO MUCH.

I was so freaked out. Waited for mum/dad to come home and asked about it. They told me it is true.

Someone said she died when she was sleeping. She suffocated.

And suddenly I recalled (in my dreams lol) myself crying beside her bed, her cold body etc. Intense pain. I was crying and shouting in my dream. And then I woke up.

The moment I opened my eyes, I cried. Really badly.

So glad it was a dream. So glad I woke up. But I started to doubt reality so much. Went to check her bed, her clothes and everything else to make sure it was there. Messy bed, checked. Cupboard full of clothes: checked. Went to check her facebook as well. Saw she posted something 11hours ago. It was then I managed to calm down.

Idky my mind decides to play such a bad joke on me. I love her a lot, probably the most in this whole wide world and I cannot live without her. She's the best sis, ever.

I really dote on her and would give her the best I can.

She's the little cute girl in my family. For always.

Please let my family and friends stay healthy. And safe.

The issue about blogging

This is a very wordy and lengthy post but it is something I feel so strongly about.

I have been keeping a blog for… about 6 years? There are so many changes if we were to compare the first post I made to this very moment: from URLs to blog skins, writing styles and even the perspective of blogging.

I opened my first space way back in 2006? Blogs were the hot thing and basically every soul owns a blog. How can I miss out the fun? I wrote in horrible English (PS, not that my language is terrific now la) with twits and all. Hello, don’t laugh at me. I was only 13 back then – young, foolish and follows everything in trend. Or anything I perceived to be “cool”.

I used to blog for keepsake. For whining purposes (Love life, fml). Everything is ridiculously emotional and dumb. That probably happened for my first few blogs. I can’t recall the URLs now. Anyway, don’t bother, I’ve deleted those blogs/posts.

I started taking blogging more seriously, say about secondary 2. I wrote more about my daily life/feelings/random things. At least it is not clotted with emotional love shit. I remember vividly I wanted to achieve something from this little cyberspace I own. I spent ages coming out with an URL. I wanted something with my name in it. Something unique yet it has a touch of me.

And so I came up with jielinnnx33. Don’t complain about the N. Jie Lin is such a common name. Billions of Jie Lin all around and this is the best I can come up with. :3

Changed URL, changed contents, changed writing style.

I would avoid writing in Chinese, using Singlish, emotions now. I will double check all my tenses/spelling etc before I post any post up. (Really can’t take it when I read my archives and spot crazy amount of errors). I’m thankful to my JC GP tutor for this. She is the one who changed me. #bestteacher

PS, if I make any errors or whatsoever, feel free to correct me. Life is lesson by itself. I’m not perfect but I will try to close up the gap.

I stop photoshopping my pictures. Fml it is so fugly. Almost died when I saw the photos I took back then.

Okay, something to note.

Not that I DON’T photoshop. I do. But I don’t edit that much now. 1 batch of photos I take (say 20 shots), only 1 or 2 can use. Discover your angles and such, it’d make your life easier. 1 thing I would do for all pictures: levels. Favourite tool.
But not suitable for people with lighter hair colour. (Maybe I’d explain in some other posts).

Better stop now if not I’ll go on and on.

So currently, other than blogging about the usual things, I will write posts that are helpful to people. Kinda make me happy when I know people are using those posts as a guide. (Refer to the left, or any other posts I wrote). It is indirectly telling me, I’m useful to someone somewhere in this world.

And I hope I will continue to be! ^^

Really glad I’ve strangers coming up to me, telling me they read this space. Or somewhere along that line. I can’t believe I can earn (a tiny sum) from this space. Thanks nuffnang, not to say know friends through this space. :D

Talked about the past, the present and now, the way forward.

I will continue to blog. Despite the tiring schedules and mundane daily events. This is my baby. My hardwork. My listening ear. :]

I don’t know whether you’d feel the same or not but I feel closer to those I read. Even after days or months. Blogs/Twitter is a good place for me to keep myself updated –how they are doing, feeling, etc.

Preparing myself for the Chinese New Year

Cny is just round the corner. Barely 1 week left. Oh great. How's the preparation going on?

Other than the usual grocery shopping/spring cleaning, you got to remember you need to prepare yourself for the new year as well!

Perhaps cny is way too early this year. Totally rushing. No cny mood yet.

Set a couple of "targets" for myself to reach. Man, not exactly working well. Guess I've to work harder. At least I made the effort to walk home when I can choose free transfer, you know?

This is what I'm doing/plan to do. For 1 week.

1. Drink 5 glasses or more of water
Don't meh. I don't usually drink water. Probably can survive in a desert longer than you out there yo. (this is the only benefit I can think of). Been trying to force down at least... say 4 cups of water daily this few weeks. My body is so used (in a bad way) to minimal water so I went to the toilet like.... 8 times in 2hours today. With full bladder.

It was worth it. Swear. Skin/health improved so much. I don't get chapped lips or dry skin now despite sitting in an air-conditioned environment for 8 hours.Not adding sleeping time yet.

So remember to hydrate yourself.

2. Drink 1 glass of green tea
Especially after meal I guess. Good to clean out your system blahblahblah. This is not some sort of medical blog so if you really wish to find out, google it.
Of course, it helped my body a whole lot. :D Plus it will make you lose some fats. That's what I heard of.

3. Sleep early
I can't be too ambitious and set targets like going to bed at 10pm. I'm tired enough to crash but if I sleep at 10am, say bye to blog posts. And catching up with cyber space. Target 1230am. Or earlier. That's 1 hour earlier than my usual sleeping time. I know.

4. Exercise
Not gonna try too hard (as well) so some sort of stretching every morning + walk home after work + some sort of exercise before bed. I'm contented already.

5. Skip make up
This is nothing hard. I don't make up when I go to work. If lazy is some sort of worm, I bet I'm covered with those er xin things.

6. Basic skin care
Follow the 4 step: Wash, exfoliate (can be a daily/weekly thing), toner and moisturiser. Do wonders.
Will be masking a little more than usual this couple of days.

7. Low Carbs meal
That means less rice. I know. Can you believe I had sooooooo little rice (even stray cats downstairs eat more than what I had). Save my carbs for future use! All the new year junk food + good food. Less meat + more vegs as well. 1 week. #noproblem

Sounds simple to you?
It will be pretty tough for me to follow the 7 golden rules for 1 week.

This year, I wanna look healthy and glowy? So I don't wanna spend too much time on hair/nails/clothes.
Been scanning through the possible look I would want during chu yi. I hope it will turn out great.

Korean style make-up btw. Jappie thick lashes and all will be a little too much for my family to take. LOL. So natural looking look will be more suitable.

So one more week down. Didn't really blog about daily events ever since I started working.

Not gonna share the company I'm working right now. It is not very good.

This week is really meaningful.

Tuesday to Wednesday: Product training. Learned so much about the company and I'm pretty amazed. Tempted to change my whole bathroom (guess which company I'm working hahaha!). Anyway, my trainer is really informative and entertained us a whole lot.

Successful and full of potential. Will I be like him in the future?
He taught me many things, life lessons.

So glad I joined the training. Actually I'm not required to join as the training is crafted for marketing and sales personnel.

Went through 2 tests and cleared them with perfect/almost perfect score. ^^ Not bad ar. No la, it's very manageable. Really. Getting certificate as well. ^^

Also, I had the best fried mushrooms from an Italian Restaurant in 313@Somerset. S something. Go look around, not that hard.

Not forgetting a short gathering with some peeps at Minds Cafe (will blog about this soon)

Thursday: Highlight of the day was I visited the busiest/most professional place in Singapore. First time stepping into CBD area. Like seriously tall buildings all around and everyone is practically doing their own things. Anyway, was out with my boss to deliver mandarin oranges. Cool or what.

Friday: TGIF. Ate in an Italian Restaurant in Liang Court. So much Italian food this week. Boss paid for my meal. She is the best I tell you. Btw, that place is really good and cheap. Gonna visit it soon ^^. I didn't have escargots. Maybe I will next time.

Got Meiji milk to make my Friday a better day hahahha!

Hi. A few days ago I tried sticking... double eyelid tape.
Yay to higher double eyelids.

I find it makes me look.. different. So define. Kinda like it. Quite nice leh.
(sw disagrees thought~)

Tempted to like go for some sort of correction.

The stickers I'm using are quite expensive. There is only like 50 pairs and they cost about 5? I know of stickers that cost much less. It is the thicker kind. Don't quite like it as it is a tad obvious especially when I'm looking down.

Anyhow, don't know whether it is psychological effect or something. I find my double eyelid "fold" is more define even after removing them!

But don't use too often ba. Later eyelids sag. Don't say I never warn you.

Today, I slacked so much I can barely say I went to work. Nothing to do and it's seriously tiring me out.

But this week will be packed with tons of events - from training to meetings. Meh half day training on marketing. I hope it is interesting. At least I'm learning something.

Tomorrow will be a day to look forward to, after work. ^^ So 8 hours will be very fast, no?

Have to settle some things + chunk out blog posts. Every time when I said I would write a post of two, I end up sleeping/doing nothing.

How To: Fake a bob

Never doubt my love for my long locks. But well, sometimes I'm just sick of looking the same (sadako style yo)

Hahaaa recently hooked to short hair girls. Especially when they (the korean dramas I watched haahah) style their hair! I was like wahhh and kept staring. Something wrong with me? hahhaha!

Not going to bob it anytime soon. Maybe just snip a few inches. Waist length hair is.... crazy. I've so much hair fall every single day. :(

Waste shampoo, water, conditioner whatsoever.

It is pretty easy to fake a bob. Picked the way to do it from youtube.

Background:

My hair is really long. V-shaped with as good as zero layers. I mean, my layers are all the the end of the 70cm or so hair so when I tie my hair up, I cannot achieve the bedhead look, you get?

Anyway, if you have short layers, it will look very good on you! Maybe you can wax/curl it. I guess I would never have the energy to layer my hair again. Too lazy to style. I guess I would probably stick with this style for a while. I don't even brush my hair. Lol lazy max.

What you need:

I would say this is a better method for me (and people with my type of hair)

1. For dummies like me. I suck because I can barely tie anything nice except ponytails. Meh. #failasagirl

2. It is more useful for people with no layers/not much layers.

You must be disappointed because I said there will be 1 more post but it just never happened right?!

Sorry I'm so drained, trying to meet all the deadlines and all. It is never easy leading a team but I believe everything will ultimately be alright. Plus the results are rewarding.

Spent almost half the day lazing/sleeping. It is good! Slept all I want ^^. Still a tad tired. Going to meet the girls in a while for dinner and probably slacking/playing time heheh.

Finally meeting them. I have not seen them since last year. LOL.

How's your first week for 2012?
Except Friday (some minor mood swings), it has been awesome for me! There are more things to do these few days, not bad not bad.

Many people are telling me, I am eighteen - prime age. The period where I've tons of energy, time and courage to pursue dreams, create memories and surprise myself.

But why is my golden age is horrible? Dull, boring, lost and alone?

I guess ren Lao le cannot spam too much food anymore. Gained an inch of fats here and there and it's scary.

I might sound like some anorexic kid right now. You may think I'm damn skinny or what but I'm far from that.

But, I'm not someone who steps on weighing machine everyday or measure their limbs every moment. I don't even have a measuring tape, nor weighing scale. Quite fail for a house full of girls.

Anyway, I wasn't really bothered by how meaty i got until I wore a tank top. And looked at recent pictures.

Argh time to cut some weight? I guess fats is the more appropriate word here.

I know it's pretty unbelievable, but I'm under 45kg. Weight doesn't bother me that much as long as it is kept under 45.

However, I do agree I look top meaty to be under 45 T___T

I gained an inch around my waist, no joke. I don't even recall spamming food leh. Lao le.

So I set targets for myself to achieve before the damn new year. I wanna look nice since I only meet my relatives once every year. Must leave good impression, no?

Minds Café for Shi Wee's Farewell

So last friday I went to Minds Café with some of my colleagues for Shi Wee's farewell. Continue to excel girl!

That was the first time for me, stepping into Minds Café. There are tons of board games available and it kinda makes me feel ashamed because I barely know those games.

Karen got a deal for us, $15.90 for 3 hours of board games, main course, dessert and free flow of drinks.
The people working there are cute and cheerful. I like. :D

Cranium: Very fun

Oh, I went to the Funan branch btw. Very cozy environment I would say.

The free flow of drinks were meh. Didn't even finish a cup. Guess plain water taste better, to me.

BUT, the main course and desserts, especially desserts, were superb!

Ahh I feel weird not blogging.

I've too much things on hand. So sorry. Barely enjoyed my rest with all the things piling up.
Despite so, 2012 has been great. ^^

I'm done with secret garden. Yes it is indeed a nice show. But I kinda hate the kids they have. Haahhaa irritating lot. You can expect a post on that show too. Once I figure my schedule and to-dos out.

Just wanna say, man I'm really that sort of person. The more I look at the actors in the show, the more I like them. Am I such an easy influence hur? Thank god I didn't mix with bengs and lians when I was young. If not I would probably be smoking or what now, not here, blogging my ass off because I need to go to bed and prepare myself for the first official meeting with all the people in my company. Without Jessica tomorrow.

Yes it has been a great year, so tomorrow will be as usual, great.
Wait for my post during lunch break. I foresee solo lunch/snacking in the office. Geez I'm still pretty lazy to socialise that much other than with Jess.

We were like so damn close when we were sec2. But well, over the years we sort of drifted apart. We had less to talk, I simply stopped turning to him. Argh why did I?

Yesterday was a.... make it or break it day.

We spent our first second of 2012 on the train. Not bad especially I've the closest lot around me. With comfortable MRT seats. Haaaaaaahaaa.

Anyhow, so we reached Woodlands pretty early. Together with Kai, we accompanied Shimei home.
Went to the coffee shop for ice milo. Thanks Kai! ^^ Crapped and talked. Nothing can replace all that, swear.

Sent Shimei to her block before walking back to the station.
Meanwhile, h2h talk with this boy. I can barely feel my feet after the whole 45 minutes walk but everything was worth it.

Lost a couple of secrets blah but know this boy so much more. Anything can share too! I will listen.

Anywayzzzzz, he totally deserved a post on his own because he said something which really really really touched me. kai you started my 2012 in such a good note!

Gained some; lost some

Are you ready to read? This will be by far one of the most emotional post. I went through so much today.

It was just overwhelming and idky I am constantly screwing my life up. Idky I am always whining and complaining. Idky I am lousy and such and throw bullshit to people who care a tonne.

I am really damn mad at myself, I swear. There is absolutely no reason why they stayed around for all these years when I'm just an irritating bitch. Dumb, not caring, not funny, no talent, not quite cute nor ms nice nor fun.... :( But they did.

Seven years, officially, they stayed. They grew up with me, they laughed and cried with me, they love me.

Why? I'm not that sure. But I am thankful I got these walls around me; my comfort zone.

I was so afraid of losing them. Do you know? I hope I really got it across. It really makes me feel down and extremely negative when I cherish the person/people so much but they don't seem to care as much. Yes, that's when everything got me down. (I'm pretty lousy I know). I will probably give you shit (there's a tiny voice inside me telling me to stop, but can't).

It's as though, the more I cherish a person, the harder it is for me to bring it across to him/her and it makes me so frustrated and I will start all my shitty stuff and blah.

That is probably why I had so much failed relationships too. Meh. Y u no get it? Hahaha!

Anyway, i am super duper thankful.

The whole thing brought me closer to them. I hope you feel the same too my dearests.

It was super comforting when tiffy gave me a little pat on my shoulder, or back. Can't remember. It meant a lot. I connect really well with people physically. I always thought so too.

How To: Microwave Potatoes

Hiya! Actually this is so simple it shouldn't be a post... but I really love potatoes whatever ^^.

I prefer baked ones; they taste so good! However, I don't have an oven at home. (sucks) so I guess I have to make use of what I have.
A Microwave.

I never thought it is possible to microwave potatoes. My microwave only heats up cold food/melt cheese or something. Sad.

Long story short, this is how I did it.

What I need:
1. Scrub
2. Potatoes of any sort. As if I can distinguish between different potatoes. But I remember those yellowish ones are pretty nice~
3. Microwave
4. Fork

How to do:
1. Wash/scrub the potatoes. Make sure it is clean because you're cooking the whole thing together.
2. Remove any sort of new buds/dents/etc.
3. Using a fork, create holes all around the potatoes
4. Set your temperature/setting to highest.
5. For 1 potato, set the timing to 6 minutes and for 2 potatoes, set it to 12minutes.
6. Slit open a small portion and add desired toppings.
Toppings can vary from butter (yums) to tuna to chicken to bacon etc

Very easy to do but not exactly recommended. This is because microwaving potatoes will destroy the nutrients found in them.

I just spent crazy amount on fake lashes. I am not someone who cannot live without fake lashes. Nor make up.

It just dawn on me that I can very well live without it. But I want to try different styles. I want to follow up. Many people/bloggers I read are treating those fake hair as a daily necessity.

I wonder would I be like them in the future?

I guess not exactly. I'm lazy to spend all the time dolling up. ^^ I don't really care about how I dress when there isn't major events happening.
Plus, anything with specs is ten times less appealing. (since I can't wear lens for computer)

K la, one of the reasons why I grabbed new lashes is because... I decided to go clubbing and I am quite excited. First time in my life. ^^

Guess this reason is enough to tempt me to dress up. After wearing pri school clothes or mum's clothes for a week and over.

Family Xmas Feast

As usual, we spent Christmas at home. Parents are really busy during this period. However, dad did come home to drive us to the newly opened Sheng Siong located in god-forsaken corner in the North. Somewhere near the driving center? I believe so.

I would never ever go to that place again. Pretty disappointed. Small and lack variety.

Plus the location is just turn off.Ulu like mad.

Basically, we just grabbed whatever we wanna eat. Mostly fried processed food. I can feel myself a tonne heavier already. :(

Did all the necessary, including grabbing KFC from CWP.

I love the potatoes I made so much! Though it is still a tad bad when compared with authentic baked potatoes.... It's good enough for a first-timer.

Didn't snap a lot of pictures because we just ate at speed of light when everything was done. Tried mixing some sort of vodka but still, nobody likes vodka. -___-

It's finally the day I've been looking forward to. Didn't start well but I guess things will ultimately be alright. Time check: 1.35pm. I've a Christmas party to prepare for. Nothing in mind yet. Guess I need to do some food shopping after blogging and probably a round of L4D2.

HOHOHOOOOO MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Yesterday, I headed over to zhao's place for xmas xchange with 12A. I reached really late. Had to do last minute shopping but ite didn't manage to give all the presents out. Vinus left when I just reached. Nice.

I hanged around a little while before heading home. They had a movie to catch and I didn't like Sherlock Holmes. Can imagine lots of talking scenes. I WANT ACTION/ZOMBIE MOVIE! ^^

Anyhow, saved a couple of pictures so here you go!

Btw I got for XinYi (xb's girlfriend). Really headache. I stalked her facebook for 340934809 times. Wanted to grab couple panda cups but saw they have some couple cups already. Ite I got all her gifts from Watsons. I mean, must at least buy something useful right? Wanted to grab a full set of make up for her but cannot find the glosses and blush thing, which is really good.

I got her brown liner. I guess brown suits her better since she's on the less make up side? For that brand (L'oreal), I'm totally hooked to the black one.

You're Beautiful

This is another drama I absolutely adore. I really think the first few eps are mad important. After the first ep on tv, I went online to watch all the others. Yes, mad kan chiong.

But it's really that nice. I watched it on train, during lunch breaks, walking home etc. Yeah.

I've completed them last night and I've been having the worst hangover ever. Because this show has been filling practically my whole life as per last week (minus the boring work). It's a surge of emptiness right after the last second of the show. Very hard to explain. Nothing to do so I slept almost the whole day. Decided to rewatch it on tv. I almost never rewatch dramas but this is so worth it. ^^

I've been contemplating which new drama to start (most probably secret garden). I need something to entertain me for the 1 hour train ride daily (-____________-). Let me just search around in dailymotion.

Initially when I began the show, I really don't like Hwang Tae-Kyung. Not cute. Super like Jeremy (Lee Hong ki) ^^ So cute one. But as the show progressed, I've grown to like this character. Especially when he had his fringe up.

He doesn't smile a lot so I'm puzzled why I like him the most among the three guys. Many like shinwoo but to me he's just too.... boring and beating around the bush. I don't like.

This is a tad surprising because I hardly ever like things/person I don't like initially as time goes by.
But once I'm over that hurdle I'll be done. All in. Hooked.

Ahh I wish I know someone who is passionate for some sort of music/the arts. And have some sort of charm. #okcan

When I am watching the show, I wish to fast-forward all the portions without him and Mi Nam... Hahaha!

Btw, Mi Nam looks really good when she styles her (I think) wig. Check the last few ep.

Hit the Orchard Road

Second day of work down. Today was a fast day. Everything was so fast paced. I am indeed getting use to the environment. Colleagues are really nice.
Met another manager, Jeffery. Very organised person. Very capable. Though there would be higher expectations but I don't mind working under a tighter condition. Let's take all this as a form of training.

Toured around our life centre. Very impressive. Didn't stay on for the event (there's good food you know) as Jessica had to rush to meet her parents.
I hate MRT rides. Firstly, it's a test to see how many people can fit into the cabins. Secondly, the trains (esp the one I took back) was accelerating and decelerating periodically. Irritating. I fell on Jess so many times lol. There's this weird uncle. IDK WHY I KEEP MEETING WEIRD PEOPLE ON THE MRT/WAY HOME. The uncle stood right in front, facing me on the train. If you realised most of the people will stand in a certain orientation but this uncle did the opposite. Never mind la but I was uncomfortable so I tilted to the side. The weird uncle also tilted the same way wtf.
The ride was mad shaky that time but I forced myself not to fall, or worse on him. I don't wanna chop off any parts he touched me. Haaaaa Ikr.

When I'm on my way home (I walked), this man passed by, stopped, turned and stared at me. I saw him staring because I turned to go up the stairs. I guess I dressed weirdly? Or perhaps there's something on my face? I didn't even wear make up and I just put on my geeky-with-a-tint-of-fashion (self-proclaimed) specs.

Seriously, who can take contact lens and computer for 8 hours? Not forgetting mine are coloured.

Yesterday after my first day of work, I went over to Orchard to meet my dearests. Everyone came but tiffy went home really early. Went to Daiso to grab cushion for my dad and a cup for myself in the office. I haven't even wash the cup so I'm still using office cups.

Really need to hit Orchard H&M (since I love their winter collection) for cardigans or something. Nearly froze to death in the office.

They went for Macs fries and ke lian de me have to go home because I can't stay out too late. You know, I need to catch 1 ep of You're Beautiful before bed.

2011 is bad. But well, this is one of the years I gained so much. I learned, I changed, I laughed, cried, loved and hated.

2012 is a year of.... uncertainties. There will be so much changes. I'm so afraid of them.

Such an impromptu trip. Thank god for spontaneous people (okay, not really, only one), google maps and my sis's ezlink.
Sheng siong another day, I think.

Started the day off with colour selection and throwing old plates and such. Fun. ^^

After which I made my way to Ikea @ Alexandra Road.

Before you even continue, let me warn you first, I only took 1 picture in Ikea. The rest are just the aftermath. I was practically dragging myself around Ikea just now. So mad tired I just dropped my bag twice. Lol.

Waited for like an hour in Ikea for Tim to crawl his way there. Not his fault. The bus. Had quick snack. I'm so sua ku. First time eating in Ikea. Everything there is so fascinating. :3 Would love to dine there again. Soon I guess since I would be dropping by to grab some furniture.

I know I'm damn slow but I'm craving for meatballs and the chicken wings. So nice ~

One day I'm going to order a table full of these shit and eat them all by myself

Post post chalet = sleep like a pig. Woke up at around 3 over. My bed is the best :3

Dish of the day was butter prawns. It was meh. Arranged it nicely and wanted to snap a pic or two (since I took really long to clean and cook them) but chopsticks are apparently much faster than my camera shutter.

Not giving up yet. Garlic prawns, anyone? ^^
Had an allergy reaction when I'm cleaning the prawns... Rashes all over my hands.. Nice one.
Now my back is a tad itchy but it is all worthwhile.

I'm going to wake up super early tomorrow and start my one day event. And just in case the train breaks down again, it'd be a stay home Friday.

Hope everything turns out great and I hope I am not lazy and make my way to the big Sheng siong tomorrow. (if I have time). I wish I drive. Or someone around me drives and is willing to bring me around.

If not I will prob wear ijc uni(student price) and figure out how to bus there. And bus back with 20kg shit.

A little abrupt but I really feel like watching the movie Yue watched. Action-packed? Sounds good to me. A couple of hours spent looking for good movies to watch... But failed.

So me catching a movie in the cinema is a little out of the world. Ever since I discover funshion, YouTube and 1 more web, I always feel movies are a waste of money.

Morning Glory Pond

Back from Chalet. Waiting for pictures to be up so I can blog (But I guess it will take a while as the photos ain't with me).

Brought camera but forgot the battery. Awesome. The shots I've in my phone are boring shit so let's wait a little.

Didn't manage to accompany my dad to the hospital. Mum went on my behalf. Report wouldn't be out so but I hope, pray, wish everything got better.

Wanted to cook some good food for him ite he did all the cooking. As for me, I was the assistant cook. ^^

Now my energy level is almost zero. Let me just keep the laundry and nap a little.

Btw, my appetite is pretty small. Unless when I'm home or I'm surrounded with food I absolutely can't resist. (It is probably the same for you too).

How To: Blue Gradient Nails

This is by far my favourite set of nails done all by myself. Spent a good 1.5hours on it. Worth every second.

Been pretty hooked to blue colour recently. Not very sure why. It is really easy and mistakes and flaws are acceptable in this set of nails.

This is of course inspired by bubzbeauty, starry nights nails

I changed some of her steps to fit what I have but basically bubz has showed you how to achieve this gradient effect in the video above.

What I used:
1. Foundation sponge
2. Eleanor sky blue (been exploiting this colour so much, love it!)
3. Some silver nail polish
4. Silver glitter ($2)
5. Deep blue polish from Michelle ($2)
Didn't take a picture of the blue but here's how the polish look like.

This is one of the best polishes I've used.

They are produced by Beadstreet, a store located in Cineleisure. Going for $2 each. Cheap and good.

Plus point is there is an impressive array of colours.

6. Shimmery nude by LA colours ($3.90)

7. Topcoat/base coat by The Face Shop ($2.90)

All the colours I chose in this look are easily and cheaply available. Not forgetting how easy yet gorgeous the end product looks.

How I did it:

1. Base coat

2. Using your sponge, use the silver polish to cover 3/4 of your nail.

3. Sky blue colour should cover about 1/2 of the nail on top of the silver colour.

4. Dark blue colour should be placed and blended gradually from the tip downwards. (sort of fail here)

5. Always work from tip down. Add colour gradually. Less is more.

6. Apply shimmery nude colour from sky blue downwards.

7. Top coat and sprinkle silver glitter.

Done.

Go try them as well! ^^
